Water leaks or spills can be a common occurrence in any structure. Immediate inspection of floor coverings, structural materials and crawl spaces, as well as prompt removal of all standing water, is critical to reduce or eliminate structural damage and/or mold. After all water has been extracted, the structure must be thoroughly dried to prevent moisture damage or mold growth. Homeowners sometimes remove standing water themselves, and neglect to have the area professionally dried because the surface appears to be dry or feel "dry to the touch." However, without the proper equipment, it is impossible to determine how much moisture is still within the structure or to draw that moisture out before it cultivates mold or causes secondary structural damage. Increased moisture in the air after an indoor flood can cause "secondary" damage to decorative wood, books, artwork and other items, so thorough drying and dehumidification are critical.
Smoke particles not only rest on surfaces, but they can actually embed themselves within structures and materials. If not professionally treated, smoke odor and discoloration can cause permanent damage. Smoke particles can become acidic and begin to eat through materials, eventually even etching glass. Using the latest technology and state of the art equipment, smoke damage can be removed from most surfaces and material. Thermal Foggers allow heated neutralizing chemicals to penetrate contaminated surfaces and reduce embedded smoke and airborne odor particles. Restoration Resource Inc. also offers complete "pack-out" service to clean contents in a controlled chambered environment. Detailed hand-cleaned and ultrasonic cleaning techniques are also utilized.
If a water leak or spill has not been thoroughly extracted and the structure completely dried, or if there has been an unknown leak over a period of time, mold growth is a very high possibility. Molds reproduce by releasing tiny spores which are invisible to the naked eye. Mold spores are constantly floating through indoor and outdoor air, but when they land on a moist surface they can begin to grow. Molds perform a necessary role in nature by breaking down dead organic matter, but mold growth indoors must be avoided. Mold eats away at organic materials, including paper, drywall, wood, and some carpets, so when left untreated, it can lead to severe damage. Restoration Resource Inc is certified to contain and remove mold from affected areas of a home or other structure without contaminating surrounding areas. We build special containments around affected areas and use high-tech industrial-grade "air scrubbing" equipment to filter excessive mold spores and particles from the surrounding air. |
Most odors are just a temporary annoyance, but some odors can be so strong and lasting that they can render a home, building or car uninhabitable until the odor has been removed. A masking agent, such as a basic air freshener, simply covers the odor with another more pleasant odor. This is a very short term solution with limited effectiveness. As soon as the masking agent dissipates, the odor will return. To completely remove the odor, the source of the odor must be removed, then the odor molecules must be removed or neutralized by means of a "pairing agent." Rather than merely masking the odor, a pairing agent actually bonds with the odor molecule, changing its chemical structure and thus completely neutralizing the odor at the molecular level. Restoration Resource Inc. will identify the odor source and neutralize the problem for you.
Losing your personal belongings in a disaster can be overwhelming. Our goal is to try and save everything possible from your electronics to personal papers. Often the best way to ensure no further damage occurs is to pack out your belongings and store them. Pack-Outs can be as simple as removing the contents of one room to be cleaned, dried, and stored during the restoration of damages to that room, or as complex as completely moving out all contents throughout the house while taking comprehensive and detailed inventories of every item. After cleaning, deodorization and drying, we must decide on the type of storage that is required so no secondary damage occurs during the storage period. Is "dry" secure storage sufficient or do you have priceless artifacts, pictures, or furniture that must be properly packaged and stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment? Rest assured that every possible consideration is taken during this process, treating your belongings as if they were our own.
As if a fire itself is not destructive enough, its repercussions do not stop once firefighters extinguish the blaze. Chemical reactions and highly acidic smoke and soot caused by the burning of common household synthetics, combined with water from the firemen's hose, quickly make possessions unsalvageable within just a few days. By responding quickly and applying scientifically proven interventions, we halt and sometimes even reverse the effects of this damage. We clean and repair your home or business from the ground up while taking special care to eliminate unwanted odors and reclaim important documents and possessions whenever possible. |
